The company announced Sept. 9 that it had appointed <strong>Yahsat<\/strong>\u2019s Chief Strategy Officer Amit Somani will become its new CEO. Somani will take up the role in mid-October.<\/p>\n<p>He brings over 25 years of experience as an operational and strategic leader in the information and communications technology space, with experience as a senior executive in the satellite communications sector. Somani has been at Yahsat over 12 years. Somani has also previously been a member of the <em>Via Satellite<\/em> advisory board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very excited to be joining the ABS team at this time. The company\u2019s diverse and wide-reaching portfolio of assets, spanning multiple technologies and markets, coupled with a highly capable team makes it a unique platform to capitalize on the opportunities in the rapidly-evolving satellite communications industry,\u201d Somani said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>ABS is headquartered in Bermuda with offices in the United States, UAE and Asia.
