Terms of the deal were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>NORSS provides orbital analyst services to the U.K. Space Agency, including capabilities for government and U.K. satellite operators. NORSS also is developing a simulator for the U.K. Ministry of Defence used in the development and testing of future British military satellite systems and constellations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBringing together the complementary capabilities of these two leading space companies will enhance the quality of the U.K.\u2019s orbital analysis and space situational awareness technologies,\u201d Jeff Lewis, chief executive of Raytheon UK, said in a statement. \u201cIt also answers a call made by the U.K. government for companies to invest in cutting-edge space technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raytheon UK is part of Raytheon Intelligence &amp; Space, an operating segment of Raytheon Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>For NORSS, the pending deal will provide an entr\u00e9e into new markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe acquisition, upon completion, will facilitate expansion by NORSS through access into new markets,\u201d Ralph \u201cDinz\u201d Dinsley, the company\u2019s executive director, said in a statement. \u201cAs part of Raytheon Intelligence &amp; Space, we will have expanded access to international markets, continued investments in research and development, and opportunities to collaborate on the next generation of space technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Space domain awareness is becoming increasingly critical amid a proliferation of commercial and government satellites.<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was first published by Via Satellite sister publication Defense Daily.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Raytheon Technologies on Monday said its United Kingdom-based subsidiary has agreed to acquire another U.K.-based company, Northern Space and Security Ltd.
