{"id":55296,"date":"2022-05-27T23:40:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-27T15:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/endurosat-hosts-ibm-technologies-on-its-shared-satellite-mission\/"},"modified":"2022-05-27T23:40:00","modified_gmt":"2022-05-27T15:40:00","slug":"endurosat-hosts-ibm-technologies-on-its-shared-satellite-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/endurosat-hosts-ibm-technologies-on-its-shared-satellite-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"EnduroSat Hosts IBM Technologies on its Shared Satellite Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><strong>EnduroSat<\/strong> has teamed up with <strong>IBM<\/strong> and <strong>Red Hat<\/strong> for open source, hybrid cloud, and AI technologies on its satellite that recently launched as part of the <strong>SpaceX<\/strong> Transporter-5 rideshare mission.&nbsp;Earth observation and in-orbit Edge Computing payloads from IBM were integrated on EnduroSat\u2019s nanosatellite Platform-1.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership between EnduroSat and IBM is working to help developers and students process space data before it reaches the ground. IBM\u2019s project, codenamed \u2018Endurance,\u2019 uses IBM\u2019s edge computing in space solution. In a hybrid cloud environment, student participants will be able to securely host, access and push code on IBM Cloud, which will connect to EnduroSat\u2019s Digital Mission environment, then a ground station, and ultimately, the nanosat.&nbsp;This is part of EnduroSat\u2019s shared satellite service, which aims to provide entrepreneurs, scientists, and technologists easy access to space.<\/p>\n<p>Five teams of students have been selected to work with the IBM development for this project. The teams are from P-TECH 535 in Rochester, Minnesota; Falcon Tech in Longmont, Colorado; Leeds City College in the United Kingdom; and two teams from National Taipei University of Technology in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome IBM onboard our Shared Sat Missions.
