{"id":55663,"date":"2022-03-30T01:25:33","date_gmt":"2022-03-29T17:25:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/boeings-leanne-caret-to-retire-ted-colbert-tapped-to-lead-defense-space-and-security\/"},"modified":"2022-03-30T01:25:33","modified_gmt":"2022-03-29T17:25:33","slug":"boeings-leanne-caret-to-retire-ted-colbert-tapped-to-lead-defense-space-and-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/boeings-leanne-caret-to-retire-ted-colbert-tapped-to-lead-defense-space-and-security\/","title":{"rendered":"Boeing\u2019s Leanne Caret to Retire, Ted Colbert Tapped to Lead Defense, Space and Security"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boeing<\/strong> on Monday said that Leanne Caret, president and CEO of the company\u2019s $26 billion Defense, Space and Security business, will retire later this year and be succeed by Ted Colbert, who runs Boeing\u2019s services segment, effective April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Colbert will be succeeded as president and CEO of the $16 billion Boeing Global Services (BGS) operations by Stephanie Pope, who is chief financial officer for Boeing\u2019s Commercial Airplanes segment and previously was the finance chief for BGS.<\/p>\n<p>Caret has led Boeing Defense, Space and Security since 2016, during which time the company won two critical multi-billion dollar defense programs, the Air Force\u2019s T-7 trainer and the Navy\u2019s MQ-25 aerial refueling drone. The company\u2019s work on the Air Force\u2019s new manned aerial refueling aircraft, the KC-46, is in production but continues to suffer from engineering and development challenges that have cost the program billions of dollars over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Calhoun, Boeing\u2019s president and CEO, thanked Caret for her nearly 35 years of service with Boeing. Of Colbert, he said, \u201cThroughout his career, Ted Colbert has consistently brought technical excellence and strong innovative leadership to every position he has held. Under his leadership, BGS has assembled an excellent leadership team focused on delivering safe and high-quality services for our defense and commercial customers. His leadership track record and current experience supporting the defense services portfolio ideally position Ted to lead BDS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Calhoun said that Pope has \u201chas decades of wide-ranging business and financial leadership\u201d and that her \u201cexperience in all aspects of BGS\u201d gives her \u201cdeep understanding of the global services portfolio\u201d and the segment\u2019s customers.<\/p>\n<p>Pope\u2019s new assignment is also effective April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Caret will remain as executive vice president and senior adviser to Calhoun to support the leadership transition, business continuity and talent acquisition efforts until she retires.<\/p>\n<p>Jefferies&nbsp;aerospace and defense analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu said in a client note that Caret\u2019s retirement had been \u201canticipated for some time\u201d and that the appointments of Colbert and Pope to their new roles demonstrates Boeing\u2019s \u201cdeep bench\u201d of executive talent.<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was originally published by Via Satellite sister publication Defense Daily.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boeing on Monday said that Leanne Caret, president and CEO of the company\u2019s $26 billion Defense, Space and Security business, will retire later this year and be succeed by Ted Colbert, who runs Boeing\u2019s services segment, effective April 1.
