Gilat Satellite Networks<\/b> will serve as a network baseband vendor for a company it described as \u201cone of the largest satellite service providers in Eurasia.\u201d <\/p>\n
Under the deal announced Dec. 29, Gilat agreed to provide its SkyEdge II-c platform, which will be used to modernize and expand satellite communications throughout Eurasia for applications including maritime, land mobility, and consumer coverage. Gilat said old equipment will be replaced and legacy networks will be consolidated and unified with new networks running Gilat\u2019s SkyEdge II-c technology. Gilat will supply hubs with thousands of fixed and mobility very small aperture terminals (VSATs). <\/p>\n
\u201cThis deal represents a new, important chapter in our relationship with the large satellite service provider,\u201d said Gilat CCO Michal Aharonov. \u201cWorking together, we\u2019ll unify and upgrade the satellite network to be consolidated with Gilat\u2019s leading-technology single-platform for multiple applications.\u201d <\/p>\n
Separately, on Dec. 30, Gilat announced Gil Benyamini as the company\u2019s new CFO. Current CFO Bosmat Halpern is stepping down, and will assist in the transition. Benyamini will assume the role on Feb. 1, 2022. <\/p>\n
Benyamini joins Gilat from Panaxia Pharmaceutical Industries<\/strong>, where he served for the past four years as CFO.
