The upgrade, \u201cMaritime 2.0,\u201d aims to improve Spire\u2019s marine data capabilities, including vessel location, weather forecasting, Automatic Identification System (AIS) global shipping activity monitoring, and data processing to optimize real-time decision making.<\/p>\n<p>Maritime 2.0 adds support for the GraphQL open-source query language, which is deployed at other enterprise technology platforms such as Atlassian, GitHub, New Relic, Intuit, and Shopify. Spire customers will be able to use GraphQL to query Spire data and integrate it with those platforms. The company also said that customers using the updated platform will see a 20% increase in daily messages from global terrestrial data.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur customers have asked for more coverage, precision at scale and even cleaner data delivery,\u201d said Spire Senior Vice President John Lusk. \u201cWe are committed to providing continuous innovation across our maritime solutions. Maritime 2.0 delivers on this promise with the data and analytics needed to address port congestion, save fuel for maritime vessels and streamline today\u2019s strained global supply chains.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Maritime 2.0 rollout announcement also came with an endorsement from a Spire end user. Ryan Lloyd, head of research and development of geospatial company <strong>Geollect<\/strong>, said that his organization had access to the beta release of Maritime 2.0 and has been using Spire\u2019s AIS data to map vessel locations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs data volumes increase, customer requirements expand and diversify, and technology evolves, it is integral for data providers to continuously improve how they deliver their data.
