{"id":56499,"date":"2021-10-08T18:46:19","date_gmt":"2021-10-08T10:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/top-space-executive-at-lockheed-martin-rick-ambrose-to-retire\/"},"modified":"2021-10-08T18:46:19","modified_gmt":"2021-10-08T10:46:19","slug":"top-space-executive-at-lockheed-martin-rick-ambrose-to-retire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/top-space-executive-at-lockheed-martin-rick-ambrose-to-retire\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Space Executive at Lockheed Martin Rick Ambrose to Retire"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Rick Ambrose, the executive vice president for Space at <strong>Lockheed Martin<\/strong>, has decided to retire on March 1 next year, the company said on Oct. 7.<\/p>\n<p>After joining Lockheed Martin in 2000, Ambrose served in a number of roles, including&nbsp;as the president of the Information Systems &amp; Global Solutions-National business; vice president and general manager of the Surveillance and Navigation Systems line of business within the space sector; and vice president and general manager of Mission Systems and Sensors\u2019 Tactical Systems.<\/p>\n<p>Ambrose helped lead a number of space programs and initiatives at Lockheed Martin, including the company\u2019s Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) and an agreement&nbsp;between Lockheed Martin and&nbsp;<strong>Omnispace LLC<\/strong> this year to pursue a space-based 5G global network to aid the Pentagon\u2019s planned Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) system and to allow users to transition between satellite and terrestrial networks without the need for multiple devices on multiple networks.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Lockheed Martin CEO James Taiclet praised Ambrose\u2019s contributions to the company over the last two decades and his \u201cstrategic leadership\u201d of the company\u2019s $11 billion space portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>Ambrose is to serve as a strategic adviser to the company to ease his successor\u2019s transition.<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was first published by Via Satellite sister publication Defense Daily.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rick Ambrose, the executive vice president for Space at Lockheed Martin, has decided to retire on March 1 next year, the company said on Oct. 7.
