{"id":56544,"date":"2021-10-01T01:23:20","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T17:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/hughes-signs-jupiter-satellite-systems-contract-with-egyptian-government\/"},"modified":"2021-10-01T01:23:20","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T17:23:20","slug":"hughes-signs-jupiter-satellite-systems-contract-with-egyptian-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/hughes-signs-jupiter-satellite-systems-contract-with-egyptian-government\/","title":{"rendered":"Hughes Signs JUPITER Satellite Systems Contract with Egyptian Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Egypt\u2019s state-owned <strong>National Company for Telecommunications Services (NCTS)<\/strong> has contracted <strong>Hughes Network Systems<\/strong> to develop the ground systems that will support the operation of the government\u2019s TIBA-1 Ka-band satellite.<\/p>\n<p>TIBA-1\u2019s mission is to bridge Egypt\u2019s digital divide and provide connectivity to those in rural and unserved areas. <strong>Arianespace<\/strong> launched TIBA-1 to its geostationary orbit located at 35.5 East in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of its new contract, Hughes will provide its JUPITER VSAT System to help NCTS accomplish this mission. NCTS will initially utilize two JUPITER System gateways, a network management system an initial delivery of remote terminals, and an OSS\/BSS solution, all of which is scheduled for installation next year.<\/p>\n<p>The NCTS contract includes an option to order additional end-user terminals as public adoption of broadband services expands. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission is to provide reliable, affordable broadband connectivity for the whole of Egypt, including remote and rural areas \u2013 satellite is essential to achieve our goal,\u201d said Dr. Abdelhamid Mostafa, chairman of the board of directors of NCTSm in a statement. \u201cWe will optimize performance of our TIBA-1 satellite with the superior ground system, both technically and commercially, for the job.
