The operator added that it plans to eventually augment the SDGC-1 network with service from its next-generation satellite constellation, ViaSat-3.<\/p>\n<p>Viasat launched residential internet service in Brazil last year. The operator is currently scheduled to launch the first of three ViaSat-3 systems satellites designated for the Americas in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy working with TGS, we can reach more locations, target a more diverse customer base, and provide a way to bring digital inclusion to more businesses nationwide,\u201d Leandro Gaunszer, managing director of Viasat Brazil, said in the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>TGS is a subsidiary of Telef\u00f3nica that manages the parent company\u2019s international wholesale, global roaming, multinational, and U.S.-based businesses. The company has numerous satellite backhaul and connectivity agreements in place with companies ranging from <strong>Gilat<\/strong> to <strong>Facebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy partnering with Viasat, we can augment our current footprint offering with Viasat\u2019s internet service,\u201d said Gustavo Arditti, satellite business unit director at Telef\u00f3nica Global Solutions. \u201cOur experience will be essential when adapting the Viasat solution to provide corporate, B2B and cellular backhaul services and help fuel adoption of critical business applications in Brazil\u2019s hardest-to-connect areas.
