{"id":57503,"date":"2021-05-20T20:51:39","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T12:51:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/cloud-constellation-selects-mynaric-laser-oisl-terminals-for-its-spacebelt-satellites\/"},"modified":"2021-05-20T20:51:39","modified_gmt":"2021-05-20T12:51:39","slug":"cloud-constellation-selects-mynaric-laser-oisl-terminals-for-its-spacebelt-satellites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/cloud-constellation-selects-mynaric-laser-oisl-terminals-for-its-spacebelt-satellites\/","title":{"rendered":"Cloud Constellation Selects Mynaric Laser OISL Terminals for its SpaceBelt Satellites"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cloud Constellation<\/strong>, the operator of a planned \u201cSpaceBelt\u201d Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite data constellation, will use <strong>Mynaric<\/strong>\u2019s laser communication Optical Inter-Satellite Links (OISLs) to connect its spacecraft under the terms of a partnership agreement the two companies announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Mynaric\u2019s will deliver all OISL CONDOR terminals required for the first ten SpaceBelt constellation satellites, which will be built by Cloud Constellation\u2019s selected prime contractor, <strong>LeoStella<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Once launched, the SpaceBelt LEO constellation aims to provide Data-Security-as-a-Service (DSaaS) with secure cloud storage and management services. Cloud Constellation said it chose Mynaric\u2019s CONDOR terminal and laser technology because of its full compliance with the <strong>Space Development Agency<\/strong>\u2019s (SDA) OISL standard, which allows the terminals to move data securely between satellites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are confident with Mynaric\u2019s proven capabilities to deliver secure and high data rate optical communications laser terminals for SpaceBelt\u2019s constellations. The optical inter satellite links are the foundation to our project\u2019s success,\u201d Cloud Constellation CEO Cliff Beek said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Mynaric just recently secured a similar laser communication terminal order from <strong>SpaceLink<\/strong> as part of a new partnership agreement the two companies announced last week. Mynaric will supply more than 40 OISL and CONDOR terminals to SpaceLink\u2019s data relay network.
