Capella Space <\/b>has hired Dan Getman as the new vice president of Product, the company announced March 12. Getman joins Capella Space from Descartes Labs<\/b>, where he was director of Product Management for the company\u2019s Data Science platform. In this role, he focused on delivering analytics products designed to extract insights and trends from Earth imagery. Getman is also the former director of Emerging Technologies at Maxar Technologies<\/b>. <\/p>\n
Capella Space is an Earth Observation (EO) startup that captures Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery via satellite, and provides insights to customers through an analytics product. Getman will lead Capella\u2019s product team and development of the analytics product. The company said Getman will execute Capella\u2019s roadmap to strengthen core its defense and intelligence use cases. Capella is also looking to expand into new verticals, and is exploring commercial use cases in disaster response, maritime domain awareness, conservation, climate change, mining, energy, and others. <\/p>\n
