Simington, a senior adviser at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), played a significant role in drafting a petition required under the Trump administration\u2019s social media executive order issued over the summer. The order instructs the FCC, after receiving NTIA\u2019s petition, to reinterpret Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.<\/p>\n<p>The order was issued in May after Twitter&nbsp;fact-checked two of Trump\u2019s tweets&nbsp;that made false statements about mail-in voting.
