Photo: Lockheed Martin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>U.S. Navy<\/strong> has awarded <strong>Lockheed Martin<\/strong> Space Systems a $112.7 million cost-plus-award-fee, firm-fixed-price, Indefinite-Delivery\/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) space segment sustainment. The Navy announced the sustainment contract on Wednesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MUOS is a narrowband military satellite communications system comprising five geosynchronous satellites and four geographically dispersed relay ground stations that provides net-centric communications capabilities while supporting legacy terminals. In October 2019, the MOUS was deemed ready for full operational use. <strong>General Dynamics Mission Systems<\/strong> is the ground segment provider.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Work will primarily be performed in Littleton, Colorado and Sunnyvale, California, and is expected to be complete by March 2030.
