{"id":60261,"date":"2020-03-02T22:46:43","date_gmt":"2020-03-02T14:46:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/space-dynamics-laboratory-built-smallsat-deploys-from-iss\/"},"modified":"2020-03-02T22:46:43","modified_gmt":"2020-03-02T14:46:43","slug":"space-dynamics-laboratory-built-smallsat-deploys-from-iss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/space-dynamics-laboratory-built-smallsat-deploys-from-iss\/","title":{"rendered":"Space Dynamics Laboratory-Built SmallSat Deploys from ISS"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Space Dynamics Laboratory<\/strong> (SDL) at <strong>Utah State University<\/strong> announced Monday that a small satellite it built was deployed into orbit, and early telemetry indicates that the spacecraft health is nominal and the satellite is operating as designed.<\/p>\n<p>The SDL-built Hyper-Angular Rainbow Polarimeter CubeSat, known as HARP, was launched on Nov. 2, 2019, on a <strong>Northrop Grumman<\/strong> Antares rocket from Virginia Space\u2019s Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at <strong>NASA<\/strong>\u2019s Wallops Flight Facility. Following a three-month stay on the <strong>International Space Station<\/strong> (ISS), HARP was deployed into its intended orbit on February 19. The HARP satellite was built to carry a payload built by the <strong>University of Maryland, Baltimore County<\/strong>. The satellite\u2019s objective is to validate the in-flight capabilities of a highly accurate and precise wide field of view hyper-angular polarimeter for characterizing aerosol and cloud properties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to be part of this important mission, led by principal investigator J.
