This new solutions will be provided through the operator\u2019s platforms in Bogot\u00e1 (Colombia) and Arganda del Rey (Spain).<\/p>\n<p>Using Ku-band VSAT terminals pointed to HISPASAT\u2019s satellites located at 30 degrees West orbital position, merchant vessels, ferries, yachts, and sand fishing boat companies should be able to enjoy high-capacity connectivity on their ships. This aims to allow them to offer applications such as internet access for the crew and passengers and links to receive television, emergency services and telephone solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Antonio Guerra, HISPASAT\u2019s sales office manager, stated that \u201cwe are very proud to rely on Satlink in order to reinforce our presence in the maritime mobility sphere, one of the fields with the greatest potential for growth in satellite telecommunications in upcoming years, and one where Satlink has a powerful presence\u201d. Jean-Paul Geelen, Satlink\u2019s satcom division director, added that \u201cwith this agreement, Satlink is expanding its service options for the maritime sector where we have acquired a great deal of experience thanks to the applications that are benchmarks in the sector today. HISPASAT\u2019s High Throughput Satellites (HTS) will be able to offer new connectivity solutions specific for every type of vessel.
