These satellites, featuring Boeing\u2019s advanced software-defined communications payload, are being transported to Cape Canaveral for a planned launch in December. The O3b mPOWER satellites feature Boeing\u2019s first-of-its-kind software-driven integrated payload array technology, providing adaptable connectivity and high-frequency re-use, a metric used to measure efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>We\u2019ve worked closely with&nbsp;<\/em><em>SES<\/em><em>&nbsp;from the start of this program, and we moved with pace to manufacture the latest pair of satellites<\/em>,\u201d said <strong><\/strong><strong>Michelle Parker<\/strong><strong>, vice president Boeing Space Mission Systems.<\/strong> \u201cWe look forward to seeing the satellites enter service and continue to impress SES users.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith our O3b mPOWER system now operational, we are excited to bring these two additional satellites into orbit and bolster our constellation to continue delivering the high quality connectivity services required by our customers,\u201d said <strong><\/strong><strong>Milton Torres<\/strong><strong>, CTO of SES.<\/strong> \u201cWe\u2019re proud of the work carried by our SES team, along with Boeing and other technology partners across space and ground segments, to bring the unique capabilities of our O3b mPOWER system online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the ability to generate over 5,000 fully steerable beams, the satellites offer unparalleled flexibility, allowing SES to dynamically allocate bandwidth and power to specific regions or customers as needed.
