Photo: SIA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Satellite Industry Association<\/strong> (SIA) testified before the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee during a hearing titled \u201cThe Race to 5G: Exploring Spectrum Needs to Maintain U.S. Global Leadership.\u201d&nbsp;SIA President Tom Stroup provided testimony on behalf of the Association.<\/p>\n<p>Stroup\u2019s testimony focused on the current and future value of satellite broadband and the importance for policymakers to create a cooperative spectrum environment for both the satellite broadband community and terrestrial wireless stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSatellite innovations depend on our industry\u2019s ability to reliably access spectrum,\u201d Stroup said. \u201cThe FCC must continue to ensure satellite and 5G can advance their spectrum needs by providing leadership at the upcoming World Radio Conference, one that recognizes the global dimension of satellite spectrum requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Satellite Industry Association President Tom Stroup testifies before the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
