The GVF announced Hartshorn\u2019s shock resignation on April 19. The GVF is now inviting applications for the next secretary general and for an assistant who will support his replacement.<\/p>\n<p>Hartshorn has long been one of the most recognizable and vocal leaders in satellite, and has frequently been of the main people mobilizing the industry as it has looked to maintain vital spectrum at recent <strong>International Telecommunications Union <\/strong>(ITU) meetings. After two decades in the job, his will not be easy shoes to fill. Hartshorn is a well-known figure on the speaking circuit, both in terms of moderation and appearing on industry panels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to express our appreciation for Mr. Hartshorn\u2019s decades of service,\u201d said Arunas Slekys, GVF\u2019s Chairman of the Board. \u201cThe industry achievements realized during his tenure have been remarkable\u2026 and have set the stage for GVF\u2019s next chapter.
