The order was received pursuant to a firm fixed-price contract from <strong>ADS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The BFT-2 system, which is part of the U.S. Army\u2019s Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) program, provides global real-time situational awareness and networking capabilities for U.S. warfighters.<\/p>\n<p>Manufacturing production will occur at Comtech\u2019s high-volume technology manufacturing center in Tempe, Arizona. Comtech expects to begin shipments during the second half of its fiscal 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Comtech\u2019s MT-2025 transceiver, which is also known as the Blue Force Tracker-2 High Capacity (BFT-2-HC) Satellite Transceiver, meets BFT-2 protocols and is also fully backward compatible with the U.S. Army\u2019s BFT-1 system.<\/p>\n<p>Comtech currently provides sustaining support for the BFT-1 system and previously shipped over 100,000 BFT-1 mobile satellite transceivers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comtech Telecommunications announced that during its second quarter of fiscal 2018, the U.S. Army awarded the company an initial $11.7 million order to provide several thousand of its MT-2025 Mobile Satellite Transceivers in support of the Army\u2019s Blue Force Tracking 2 (BFT-2) system.
