{"id":66093,"date":"2018-02-15T01:22:33","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T17:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/gogos-2ku-equipped-aircraft-first-to-use-ses-15-hts-capacity\/"},"modified":"2018-02-15T01:22:33","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T17:22:33","slug":"gogos-2ku-equipped-aircraft-first-to-use-ses-15-hts-capacity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/gogos-2ku-equipped-aircraft-first-to-use-ses-15-hts-capacity\/","title":{"rendered":"Gogo\u2019s 2Ku Equipped Aircraft First to Use SES 15 HTS Capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gogo<\/strong> announced that it has more than 200 aircraft equipped with its 2Ku In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) technology using the increased High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity delivered by the <strong>SES<\/strong> 15 satellite.<\/p>\n<p>SES 15 entered service in&nbsp;January 2018&nbsp;and is the company\u2019s first hybrid satellite providing Ku-band wide beams and Ku-band spot-beam capacity over&nbsp;North America,&nbsp;Mexico,&nbsp;Central America&nbsp;and the Caribbean.&nbsp;All new 2Ku installations enter service with the upgraded modem, and all 2Ku-equipped aircraft are expected to have the new modem by the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe designed the technology with an open architecture so it could take advantage of numerous enhancements over time,\u201d said&nbsp;Anand Chari, Gogo\u2019s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).&nbsp;\u201cAs we layer in more HTS capacity from satellites like SES 15, 2Ku\u2019s performance will get even stronger without having to touch the aircraft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gogo has signed capacity agreements across 11 SES satellites around the world, including an agreement for HTS capacity onboard SES 14, which will provide additional capacity over&nbsp;Latin America, the&nbsp;Caribbean, and across the North Atlantic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gogo announced that it has more than 200 aircraft equipped with its 2Ku In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) technology using the increased High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity delivered by the SES 15 satellite.
