{"id":66968,"date":"2017-10-25T21:35:46","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T13:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/honeywells-connected-aircraft-hardware-certified-for-helicopters\/"},"modified":"2017-10-25T21:35:46","modified_gmt":"2017-10-25T13:35:46","slug":"honeywells-connected-aircraft-hardware-certified-for-helicopters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/honeywells-connected-aircraft-hardware-certified-for-helicopters\/","title":{"rendered":"Honeywell\u2019s Connected Aircraft Hardware Certified for Helicopters"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>The helicopter industry can now take advantage of higher-speed onboard Wi-Fi, video transmission and telemedicine capability in Europe and North America using <strong>Honeywell\u2019s<\/strong> Connected Aircraft solution, the Aspire 200 system, the company announced.<\/p>\n<p>Honeywell was awarded a <strong>Federal Aviation Administration <\/strong>(FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Aspire 200 satellite communications system on the <strong>Airbus<\/strong> Helicopters AS350 and <strong>Sikorsky<\/strong> UH-60 Blackhawk and has applied for an FAA STC for the Bell 429, while <strong>Transport Canada<\/strong> has certified the system on the Bell 429. The <strong>European Aviation Safety Agency<\/strong> (EASA) approvals for those helicopters are also underway. In addition, EASA recently approved the installation of the Aspire 200 system on the Leonardo AW139 helicopter.<\/p>\n<p>Honeywell\u2019s system provides a connectivity service for helicopters, enabling constant communication, even when in remote areas. The Aspire 200 system, combined with the <strong>Inmarsat <\/strong>SwiftBroadband High-Data Rate (HDR) software package, brings high-bandwidth connectivity to the helicopter cabin while allowing the pilot or operator to mitigate any signal connectivity issues.<\/p>\n<p>To complement Aspire 200, Honeywell\u2019s GoDirect Cabin Connectivity service includes access to a selection of GoDirect apps, such as GoDirect Satcom Toolkit and GoDirect Global Mobile Data, allowing improved productivity with real-time communications through access to emails, videoconferencing and higher-speed broadband transmission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The helicopter industry can now take advantage of higher-speed onboard Wi-Fi, video transmission and telemedicine capability in Europe and North America using Honeywell\u2019s Connected Aircraft solution, the Aspire 200 system, the company announced.
