Gilat\u2019s aero modem powers Gogo\u2019s 2Ku service and will be installed in more than 1,600 aircraft across more than 13 airlines, commencing this year, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p>On May 9, Gogo hosted an industry event on its <strong>Boeing <\/strong>737 test plane, the \u201cJimmy Ray.\u201d The test flight not only confirmed its throughput and user experience, but also successfully demonstrated interoperability capabilities of Gilat\u2019s aero modem with the aircraft\u2019s communication avionics system.<\/p>\n<p>Gogo has selected Gilat to provide the onboard Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) modem and satellite baseband infrastructure for its IFC solution.
