The company earned revenues of $431 million in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>However, Echostar also saw a slide in net income from continuing operations, reporting a total of $30.7 million versus $35.3 million in the same period last year. Consolidated Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) came in at $183 million, with diluted earnings per share of $0.41 (versus $0.54 in the same period last year).<\/p>\n<p>EchoStar reported it had more than 1 million consumer broadband subscribers as of March 31 through its subsidiary <strong>Hughes<\/strong> <strong>Network Systems<\/strong>. During the quarter, the company orbited its Ku-band EchoStar 23 satellite at 45 degrees west to provide Direct-to-Home (DTH) services in Brazil.
