LEOcloud\u2019s Service Management System will enable end user resource reservation, application migration, and operation.<\/p>\n<p>LEOcloud&#8217;s Space Edge IaaS enables multi-cloud computing on board space-based facilities. It scales to address the cloud computing requirements of satellites, research platforms, and space stations in LEO, the lunar region, and beyond. Space Edge IaaS is a managed service that allows spacecraft operators to focus on their core expertise and services while providing local Space-based, mission critical cloud computing services to their customers.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, LEOcloud and Sierra Space have entered into a collaborative agreement where they will develop a roadmap and plan of record for support of cloud services on Sierra Space\u2019s LIFE Habitat, Dream Chaser Spaceplane, and Sierra Space Station facilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSierra Space is building and operating disruptive platforms and services in space that will drive the next great industrial revolution \u2013 the Orbital Age,\u201d said <strong>Ken Shields<\/strong>, Sr. Director of Business Development at Sierra Space. \u201cWorking with LEOcloud to develop this in-space compute and cloud infrastructure are critical elements to building a robust economy in LEO and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLEOcloud is proud for the opportunity to advance our service offering towards commercialization that will be vital in order for the emerging Space economy to realize its full potential,\u201d said Dennis Gatens, CEO and founder of LEOcloud. \u201cWe are excited to be working with a team of market leading visionaries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe space station represents a novel testbed to validate emerging technologies and capabilities that bring value to humanity and spur commerce in low Earth orbit,\u201d said ISS National Lab Chief Scientist <strong>Dr. Michael Roberts<\/strong>. \u201cWe look forward to working with LEOcloud as they leverage the space station to further cloud computing efforts that may provide data solutions not only for this orbiting outpost, but future destinations in low Earth orbit and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Space is the next domain for edge computing where it will be critical infrastructure for services and operations for commercial, government, and military users to transform data into actionable insights far more efficiently by removing the latency, security risks, and the cost burden of bringing their data back to terrestrial data centers.
