The satellite operator restored services early in the afternoon on Oct. 3 and confirmed that the satellite is performing normally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSatellite anomalies like the one that affected Telesat\u2019s Anik F2 yesterday are highly unusual. Telesat is continuing to investigate the root cause of the anomaly and will advise affected customers as more details become known,\u201d Telesat said in an Oct. 3 statement.<\/p>\n<p>Anik F2 is a <strong>Boeing<\/strong>-built satellite that entered service in October 2004, providing coverage predominantly over North America. The spacecraft carries 24 C-band transponders for broadband and satellite trunking, 35 Ku-band beams for enterprise and government mobile applications and 45 Ka-band spot beams for advanced consumer broadband services.
