The deal marks KT SkyLife\u2019s fifth Ultra-HD channel launch to date.<\/p>\n<p>Ericsson encoders support video compression and pre-processing improvements in MPEG-2, Advanced Video Coding (AVC) and HEVC, with advanced compression capabilities for video quality optimization. The solution is expected to improve picture quality by 15 to 20 percent, while using less of KT SkyLife\u2019s satellite bandwidth. This deal is the latest Ericsson compression solution KT SkyLife is implementing; the company also uses the AVP 4000 system encoders and MX8400 multiplexers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKT SkyLife is committed to providing the nation\u2019s first multi-channel high-definition TV and 3-D broadcasting services, and continuing its leadership with optimized commercial Ultra-HD TV services.
