Its work spans missile warning and defense, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, space domain awareness, remote sensing and analysis, and autonomous command and control.<\/p>\n<p>The contract provides for a common architecture and design intended to standardize the upgrade of ground-based radars. &#8220;SciTec is honored to support the Space Force,&#8221; said David Simenc, SciTec President. He said the effort &#8220;strengthens national defense, modernizing vital radar infrastructure and ensuring the United States maintains an operational advantage in an increasingly contested environment while minimizing total lifecycle costs to taxpayers and warfighters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Firefly Aerospace was established in 2017 and operates engineering, manufacturing, and test facilities in central Texas. The company states it was the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with approximately 24-hour notice and the first to achieve a successful landing on the Moon.<\/p>\n<p>According to SciTec&#8217;s president, the modernization effort is meant to strengthen national defense and radar infrastructure while reducing total lifecycle costs for taxpayers and the warfighter. The company frames the digitization work as ensuring the United States maintains an operational advantage in a contested environment.
