According to SES, the broadcast was the first to show how industry can launch new HDR Ultra-HD TV services with DVB broadcast networks while simultaneously providing such broadcasts to Ultra-HD Phase 1 receivers already in the market. SES transmitted the broadcast from one of its satellites at 19.2 degrees east using existing DVB Ultra-HD Phase 1 specifications and <b>BBC Research &amp; Development<\/b>\u2019s HDR technology directly to a Samsung SUHD-TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn introduction of any HDR technology must be backwards compatible with existing DVB UHD 1 Phase 1 flat screen TVs that are already in consumers\u2019 homes.
