The contract calls specifically for the SLM-5650A satellite modem for use in a government network.<\/p>\n<p>The SLM-5650A modem supports data rates from 8 kbps to 155 Mbps and symbol rates from 32 ksps to 64 Msps. The device complies with MIL-STD-188-165A, modem types one, two, four, five and six for applications on Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS), Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) and commercial satellites.<\/p>\n<p>Comtech\u2019s modem provides standard MIL-STD-188-114 (EIA-530 \/ RS-422) and EIA-613 (HSSI) serial interfaces, can be optionally configured for G.703 and Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) serial interfaces, and can also be optionally equipped with a 4-port 10\/100\/1000 Base-T Ethernet network processor module.
