The companies conducted terminal testing on the first GX satellite, Inmarsat 5 F1 (I5-F1), from Cobham Satcom\u2019s Denmark facility. The Explorer 7100GX is the first vehicle mounted terminal to gain full type approval with the GX network.<\/p>\n<p>The terminal is an auto-deploy drive-away system for use on any land-based vehicle, trailer or skid mount. It uses a fully integrated <b>iDirect<\/b> core module to quickly tap into the network, and a 1-meter aperture for high data rates.<\/p>\n<p>The second of three satellites in the GX constellation, I5-F2, this week completed its orbital deployment stages. Inmarsat has begun three weeks of payload testing from the operator\u2019s GX gateway site in Nemea, Greece.
