The satellite is the company\u2019s second spacecraft, launched July 8, 2014 aboard a Soyuz rocket.<\/p>\n<p>The first images taken show Bangor, Maine and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Skybox Imaging has progressed through the initial commissioning activities, but the company said tuning and calibration for SkySat 2 is expected to take several months. These first images, taken within 48 hours of launch, are not tuned or calibrated.<\/p>\n<p>Skybox Imaging, which was recently purchased by <strong>Google<\/strong>, contracted <strong>SSL<\/strong> to build a constellation of EO satellites which the company uses for high-resolution imagery, HD video and analytics.
