Hispasat headed the ICT 2020 project \u2014 which began in 2011 and concluded at the Technical University of Madrid \u2014 to improve Common Telecommunications Infrastructures (CTI). The goal of the program was to enhance the efficiency of telecommunications infrastructure to better handle large volumes of traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion of the ICT 2020 project featured multiple video distribution demonstrations through satellite and Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in SD, HD, 3D, 4K and Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) using fiber optic.
