Photo: MACOM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>[Via Satellite 02-14-2014] <b>M\/A-COM Technology Solutions (MACOM)<\/b> has announced its acquisition of <b>Nitronex<\/b>, a company that specializes in design and manufacturing of gallium nitride (GaN) based RF solutions.<\/p>\n<p>This acquisition is expected to provide MACOM with GaN-on-Silicon epitaxial and pendeoepitaxial semiconductor process technology and materials for use in RF applications.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGaN technology has been long viewed as the driver of the next generation of RF and microwave applications,\u201d said John Croteau, president and CEO, MACOM. \u201cWith today\u2019s announcement, MACOM now provides what we believe to be the industry\u2019s largest portfolio of GaN devices. MACOM\u2019s broadened portfolio of GaN-on-Silicon and GaN on Silicon Carbide technologies offers customers the flexibility to utilize the best solution to solve their RF and microwave design challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MACOM purchased Nitronex from <b>GaAs Labs<\/b> for $26 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Croteau, president and CEO, MACOM.
