Click on the image to watch the animation.<\/i><br \/>\nImage credit: CIMSS Satellite Blog\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>In the search for clues about the deadly Yarnell Hill wildfire in Arizona, the <b>University of Wisconsin\u2019s<\/b> Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies turned to <b>NOAA\u2019s<\/b> GOES 15 satellite.<\/p>\n<p>The imagery from this spacecraft shows a smoke plume associated with this fatal fire, as conditions suitable for wildfire growth affected the area such as temperatures above 100 degrees, low relative humidity, and gusty winds.
