The six-day deorbiting operation was completed on Jan. 10. <\/p>\n<p>Thor II was Telenor\u2019s first communications satellite, launched in 1997 by a Delta II rocket from Cape Canaveral. During the beginning of its mission it operated together with Thor I, which was purchased as Marcopolo 2 after the collapse of <strong>British Satellite Broadcasting<\/strong>.
