Thrane &amp; Thrane will trade as Cobham Satcom starting in November, and will form the core of the new business unit from its headquarters in Denmark.<br \/>\n\tWith the new development, Thrane &amp; Thrane will be immediately rebranded. Cobham said it expects to complete this process by the end of 2013. Some of Cobham\u2019s satcom product lines, however, will be adopting Thrane &amp; Thrane\u2019s product names. Cobham Cape Town\u2019s airborne products will be renamed to match Thrane\u2019s Aviator brand. Cobham Orlando\u2019s land-mobile products will be renamed Explorer. Cobham added that it intends to continue using Thrane\u2019s Sailor and Sea Tel maritime product names for select products.<br \/>\n\t<strong>Satcom SBU<\/strong> also will adopt the Cobham Satcom name and Cobham\u2019s brand on its products throughout 2013.<br \/>\n\tThrane &amp; Thrane CEO Walther Thygesen will lead the Cobham Satcom division with assistance from a multinational management team. The new business unit will also include operations from Cobham\u2019s satcom facilities in Cape Town, South Africa, Concord, Calif., and Orlando, Fla.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\tSatcom SBU and Cobham Aerospace and Security Division President Richard Tyson said that the new Cobham Satcom business unit is now twice the size of what either Thrane &amp; Thrane or Cobham\u2019s legacy satcom businesses were prior to the combination.<br \/>\n\t\u201cCobham Satcom has a great future,\u201d Tyson said in a statement. \u201cThe integration of the businesses is going well, with teams focused on how best to bring together complementary product lines and routes to market so that we can grow the business further.
