Initial build-up has started at the Spaceport for its mid-December launch. <\/p>\n<p>Skynet 5D will ride in the rocket\u2019s upper payload slot to be deployed first. It weights approximately 11,000 pounds and it will carry X-band transponders that provide voice and data communications for military operations in Europe, Australia, and for the NATO. <\/p>\n<p>Mexsat 3, produced by <strong>Orbital Science<\/strong>, will be installed as the lower passenger. It weights approximately 6,700 pounds and it will extender C-band and Ku-band transponders for Mexico\u2019s communication services.
