[08-31-12] Out of the eight Future Comsatcom Services Acquisition (FCSA) CS2 program winners that were recently awarded five-year contracts to provide up to $2.6 billion in satellite telecom solutions and end-to-end managed network services, Astrium<\/b> subsidiary Vizada<\/b> must be experiencing the most prominent sense of d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu.<\/p>\n
Besides CS2, Vizada also holds U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)<\/b> Schedule 70 contracts under the FCSA SIN 132-54 and SIN 132-55 vehicles, as well as one for satellite connectivity equipment under SIN 132-8. The multiple awards allow Vizada to provide U.S. government and military customers with access to its entire portfolio of transponded capacity and fixed and mobile subscription services.
\n Vizada CEO Bob Baker said the CS2 contract award transforms Vizada into a valuable end-to-end solution source for the U.S. government.

\n Vizada solutions eligible for procurement under the FCSA program include integrated elements of fixed satellite services and mobile satellite services with service-enabling components such as user terminals, teleports, terrestrial connectivity and value-added services for warfighter capabilities. The eligible portfolio also includes the provision of military X-band and UHF services via the Skynet satellite system, as well as commercial C-, Ku- and L-band services through its partners Eutelsat, Inmarsat, Intelsat, Iridium, Loral, SES<\/b> and Thuraya<\/b>.
\n All of this will be supported by Vizada\u2019s existing infrastructure of MAC 1 compliant teleports, terrestrial backhaul and secure NOC services for end-user applications.
