{"id":83587,"date":"2012-02-02T18:23:15","date_gmt":"2012-02-02T10:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/spacex-test-fires-new-superdraco-engine\/"},"modified":"2012-02-02T18:23:15","modified_gmt":"2012-02-02T10:23:15","slug":"spacex-test-fires-new-superdraco-engine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/spacex-test-fires-new-superdraco-engine\/","title":{"rendered":"SpaceX Test Fires New SuperDraco Engine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[02-02-12] <b>SpaceX<\/b> has successfully test fired its new, reusable SuperDraco engine \u2013 an advanced version of the Draco engines currently used by its Dragon spacecraft to maneuver on orbit and during reentry, the company announced Feb. 1.<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp;The tests were conducted at SpaceX\u2019s rocket development facility in McGregor, Texas, during which the SuperDraco sustained full duration, full thrust firing as well as a series of deep throttling demonstrations.<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp;SpaceX CEO and CTO Elon Musk said the SuperDraco would play a critical role in the company\u2019s human spaceflight contracts with <b>NASA<\/b>. \u201cSuperDraco engines represent the best of cutting edge technology.
