{"id":84086,"date":"2011-10-17T21:33:46","date_gmt":"2011-10-17T13:33:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/inmarsat-5-satellites-clear-critical-design-review-ahead-of-schedule\/"},"modified":"2011-10-17T21:33:46","modified_gmt":"2011-10-17T13:33:46","slug":"inmarsat-5-satellites-clear-critical-design-review-ahead-of-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/inmarsat-5-satellites-clear-critical-design-review-ahead-of-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"Inmarsat-5 Satellites Clear Critical Design Review Ahead of Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[10-17-11] <b>Inmarsat<\/b> subsidiary <b>Inmarsat SA<\/b> has successfully completed the critical design review for the operator\u2019s new Inmarsat-5 satellites, the mobile operator announced Oct. 13.<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp;The Inmarsat-5 satellites, which are under construction by <b>Boeing<\/b>, are a key element of the operator\u2019s new Global Xpress Ka-band network.<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp;Inmarsat Space Segment Vice President Franco Carnevale said that all aspects of the spacecraft design and operation were thoroughly reviewed by Inmarsat\u2019s engineering and operation teams and by a Boeing independent review team.<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp;\u201cThis is a fundamental milestone and marks the transition of the project from a design and engineering phase to a manufacturing, integration and test phase,\u201d Carnevale said in a statement. \u201cThe review was completed earlier than scheduled, and the conclusion of the CDR board was that the design is mature and there are comfortable margins with all key performance parameters.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Inmarsat-5 F1 is on schedule for completion and launch in 2013.
