It is a radiation-tolerant and fault-tolerant energy storage system. The battery comes with an aluminum and PEEK packaging that is rigid, thermally conductive, and enables robust mechanical and thermal spacecraft interfacing. The battery&#8217;s redundant thermistors and heaters allow for thermal control.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The battery&#8217;s Radiation-tolerant Battery Interface Electronics (BIE) provide a remove-before-flight inhibit in addition to over-voltage, overcurrent, and under-voltage protection. Typical cell temperature rises with a 2C discharge rate which is less than 15 degrees C.<\/p>\n<p>The battery module has a Total Ionizing Dose (TID) of 30 kRad (Si) and a Single Event Effect rating LET greater than 55. It has a mass of less than 7.5 Kg and measures 84 x 252 x 280 mm.
