{"id":85449,"date":"2011-02-01T17:27:14","date_gmt":"2011-02-01T09:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/eiast-bigelow-aerospace-launch-human-spaceflight-program\/"},"modified":"2011-02-01T17:27:14","modified_gmt":"2011-02-01T09:27:14","slug":"eiast-bigelow-aerospace-launch-human-spaceflight-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/eiast-bigelow-aerospace-launch-human-spaceflight-program\/","title":{"rendered":"EIAST, Bigelow Aerospace Launch Human Spaceflight Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[02-01-11] The <strong>Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology <\/strong>(EIAST), the organization behind <strong>DubaiSat<\/strong>, has teamed up with <strong>Bigelow Aerospace<\/strong> to initiate a next-generation human spaceflight program in the Middle East, the organization announced Jan. 31.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The partners will establish the program in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, developing a microgravity research and development center with a potential focus on advanced biotechnology applications and a variety of other commercial space-related activities.&nbsp; <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The EIAST deal is part of United Arab Emirates\u2019 strategy to strengthen its space capabilities through its work on the DubaiSat program, with programs such as DubaiSat-1, to support business applications in the Middle East. EIAST Director General Ahmed Al Mansoori previously told <em>Satellite TODAY Insider<\/em> that other satellites were in the pipeline. \u201cWe are also hoping to launch DubaiSat-2 satellite in 2012. We are also thinking about DubaiSat-3 satellite.
