Sensio said the purchase is a major step to boost development of its projects and extend its range of solutions for 3-D delivery. <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cAlgolith\u2019s noise-reduction and compression-artifact-reduction algorithms are among the best in the industry,\u201d Sensio CTO \u00c9tienne Fortin said in a statement. \u201cWith the advent of connected TVs, noisy low-bit-rate video will be widespread, and we foresee a high demand for this capability from our current customers in the consumer electronics market.\u201d<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; While the company did not disclose the exact cost of its purchase, Sensio President and CEO Nicholas Routhier told Satellite TODAY Insider in an e-mail statement that the transaction was, \u201cclosed today for well under $1 million. This includes the acquisition of key Algolith personnel and all purchased IP technolgies.\u201d<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Routhier said the purchase provides immediate technical opportunities for the company. \u201cThis positions us well, as other key technologies will come into play further down the line.
