JanUX is currently deployed in Version 5 to hundreds of active remote sites.
Vizada and Newtec will produce a system based on the Newtec Elevation product family of professional equipment and design the offering to optimize the efficiency and performance of IP applications over satellite. Vizada will then introduce further developments on delivering IP trunking via satellite.
“Vizada and Newtec are combining their strength with this partnership, where Vizada will focus on offering high-quality services to their customers, and Newtec’s role is to contribute cutting-edge technology. This leads to great synergies to be reached,” Van Herck said. The goal of the system is to enable Vizada to bring better and more efficient services to customers. “The highly integrated system will allow greater efficiency and availability as well as offer centralized management, monitoring and surveillance. It will also provide a flexible platform for further integration of value-added services to support customer requirements,” he said.
Newtec and Vizada’s partnership could expand further, Van Herck said, as the companies are planning to collaborate on future developments for next-generation IP services. “I am looking forward to a successful continuation of our relationship and leveraging the combined expertise of our two organizations,” he said.
In 2010, Newtec has focused on product launches and deeper penetration into certain target markets. Van Herck said the biggest launch has been its DualFlow solution. “DualFlow allows broadcasters to transport simultaneous live broadcasting and data over the satellite link in the same carrier and enables two-way connectivity over satellite, introducing new interactive services to boost productivity,” Van Herck said. “Newtec’s Elevation FlexACM technology also has achieved an important success in the commercial as well as in the military and governmental market.”
Newtec also is excited about recent satellite broadband developments. Van Herck referenced SES Astra’s performance and said major satellite players should continue to view broadband as a key sector. “We have further upgraded our consumer broadband product, Sat3Play, which now also support Ka-band operation. Sat3Play has enjoyed great success in Europe, with the Astra2Connect service now the number one in consumer subscriptions.
