We can tailor-make solutions with a mix of connections from single-user sites to sites with up to 2,000 users and redistribute bandwidth from one use to another depending on the customer requirement. For example, we can have a trunk running during the day to an office location and then shift the capacity to individual sites at residential locations during the night, all independent of local infrastructure.”
Talia Trunk is available to customers throughout Africa, Europe, the Middle East and South and Central Asia. Mooney is optimistic that the service will yield a number of new customers for Talia. “We have already signed some customers for Talia Trunk. I would expect to have 40 to 50 additional connections by the end of the year.” he says.
Over the next year, Talia will work to expand access to Internet and phone services throughout its targeted locations, with trunking connections playing a key role for telecoms customers and larger ISPs in reducing deployment costs. “We have designed the service for maximum throughput, so we can use smaller antennas at client sites, which, of course, reduces complexity and cost,” said Mooney.
Talia Trunk is part of the company’s new service offering, which includes Talia SpeedNet and its add-on service, Talia SafeNet. Talia SpeedNet uses advanced caching, pre-fetching and optimization algorithms to improve Internet access. Talia SafeNet filters Internet content to provide a more family-friendly connection. Talia SpeedNet will be automatically introduced to all Talia Broadband services, while SafeNet is optional for any Talia Broadband customer.
“We’re always in the process of expanding,” said Mooney. “We took on our own teleport this year, which has allowed us to broaden our service offering dramatically. We continue to grow into Africa and South [and] Central Asia — new coverage zones for us. We also are continuing to grow in the Middle East, especially by bringing new types of service to these markets.”

Related Stories-

Talia Prepares for Launch of VSAT Service Satellite News March 15, 2010
[03-15-10] Talia has been preparing for the launch of its VSAT, consumer-focused Internet and telephone communications service for nearly 12 months, and the time now is right to bring it to market, COO Travis Mooney said.

Talia Launches Talia Home Satellite Today March 3, 2010
[03-03-10] Talia has launched Talia Home, a new consumer and telephone communications Internet service for subscribers in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, the company announced March 2.

Iraqi Satellite Companies See Opportunities in Network Connectivity Satellite News July 16, 2009
[07-16-09] IraqSat is working to bring a large satellite virtual private network (VPN) to the Iraqi Ministries of Defense and Interior in an effort to rebuild the country s communications infrastructure and provide services to…

[10-19-10] Talia has launched Talia Trunk, a solution that uses a remotely administrated DVB-S2/SCPC connection to provide dedicated services from 128 kb- to transponder-sized connections to enterprise customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Talia COO Travis Mooney told Satellite TODAY Insider that the service aims to bring more flexibility to corporate users […]

[2

post-85994","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
