(IDC) has entered into a partnership to supply <strong>Arqiva<\/strong> with digital cinema-specific content distribution applications and remote site equipment, IDC announced Oct. 4.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Arqiva, which previously selected IDC to implement an initial network, will expand the deployment of its network, supported by IDC\u2019s digital cinema-specific remote site solutions, to provide a fully managed electronic delivery service across Europe to Arqiva\u2019s media distributor clients. The systems will power the delivery of feature-length films, movie trailers and live content.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cOur development teams have been working collaboratively over recent months to develop a platform that provides Arqiva with significant operational efficiencies. IDC has played a significant role in supporting our aspirations to become the principle network for the delivery of digital cinema packages in Europe,\u201d Arqiva Satellite Media Commercial Director Barrie Woolston said in a statement.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Separately, IDC\u2019s 3-D technology partner <strong>Sensio Technologies <\/strong>signed a contract with an unnamed semiconductor developer to integrate its 3-D technology into upcoming system-on-a-chip (SoC) and digital signal processing (DSP) products targeted to 3-D TVs. \u201cThe tier-1 company licensing our technology is a preferred supplier to the leading manufacturers of digital entertainment solutions. \u2026 There is strong industry demand for chip solutions equipped to enable superior-quality 3D images,\u201d Sensio President and CEO Nicholas Routhier said in a statement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[10-05-10] IP-based solutions provider International Datacasting Corp.
