{"id":86174,"date":"2010-09-20T19:31:36","date_gmt":"2010-09-20T11:31:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/harmonic-completes-omneon-acquisition\/"},"modified":"2010-09-20T19:31:36","modified_gmt":"2010-09-20T11:31:36","slug":"harmonic-completes-omneon-acquisition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/harmonic-completes-omneon-acquisition\/","title":{"rendered":"Harmonic Completes Omneon Acquisition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Harmonic<\/strong> has completed its acquisition of video production and playout solution provider <strong>Omneon<\/strong> for about $194 million in cash and 17.1 million shares of its common stock, Harmonic announced Sept 15.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The acquisition, announced in May, represents an enterprise value of  about $273 million based on the value of Harmonic\u2019s common stock at the  time of purchase and the net of Omneon\u2019s cash balances.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The acquisition combines Harmonic\u2019s video delivery infrastructure  with Omneon production technology resources as well as its management  and distribution of digital media. Omneon\u2019s customer base includes media  companies such as <strong>BBC, BSkyB, CBS, Comcast, Discovery Communications, Echostar, NBC Universal, News Corp., Televisa, Turner Broadcasting System<\/strong> and <strong>Viacom<\/strong>. In 2009,&nbsp; Omneon\u2019s revenues were about $105 million, of which 67 percent were outside the United States.<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cBy bringing together a powerful range of market-leading  technologies that span content contribution through delivery, and  leveraging strong relationships with content producers and service  providers around the globe, Harmonic is now uniquely positioned as a  global leader in video infrastructure for the digital media industry.
