{"id":86182,"date":"2010-09-21T00:49:59","date_gmt":"2010-09-20T16:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/artel-wins-first-contract-under-disas-5-billion-fcsa-program\/"},"modified":"2010-09-21T00:49:59","modified_gmt":"2010-09-20T16:49:59","slug":"artel-wins-first-contract-under-disas-5-billion-fcsa-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/artel-wins-first-contract-under-disas-5-billion-fcsa-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Artel Wins First Contract Under DISA\u2019s $5 Billion FCSA Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[09-20-10] <strong>Artel<\/strong>, an information technology and managed telecom\/network services provider, was named the first contractor to provide satellite services under a new $5 billion <strong>U.S. General Services Administration<\/strong> (GSA) and <strong>U.S. Defense Information Services Agency<\/strong> (DISA) joint-contract vehicle, Artel announced Sept. 17. <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The 10-year Future ComSatCom Services Acquisition (FCSA) combines the U.S. military\u2019s ComSatCom acquisition vehicles DSTS-G and <strong>Inmarsat<\/strong> with GSA\u2019s SatCom2, which will allow Artel and others to compete for orders government wide. Artel currently manages over 5.5 GHz of capacity worldwide <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cFrom the <strong>U.S. Department of Defense<\/strong> and intelligence community to civilian agencies like the <strong>U.S. Department of Homeland Security<\/strong> and <strong>FEMA<\/strong>, among others, satellite-based communications are often the only reliable means of sharing information where land-line capabilities don\u2019t exist or have been destroyed,\u201d Artel President and CEO Abbas Yazdani said in a statement.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Through FCSA, the government can acquire any part of or a fully managed end-to-end satellite services solution in any commercially available ComSatCom frequency band, including L-, S-, C-, X-, Ku-, extended Ku-, Ka- and UHF.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The multiple-award schedule and indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity FCSA, a joint venture established in August 2009 between the GSA and DISA, replaces satellite communications contracts that will expire over the next two-and-a-half years.
