But either way, the economic recovery that is taking a small hold in some areas of the globe looks likely to have an impact in the Asia-Pacific markets as well \u2014 provided end user customers are willing to come along.<\/p>\n<p>Companies along the satellite communications value chain enjoyed a successful week in Singapore in terms of customer interaction \u2014 and even some orders. But there was a note of caution coming from the ultimate users of the capacity and equipment, beginning with executives from <strong>HBO Asia<\/strong> and <strong>Sony Pictures Television Networks<\/strong> sounding less than excited to jump into HD offerings because of the lack of a solid case for return on investment.<\/p>\n<p>There is a lot of potential in the communications markets in the Asia-Pacific \u2014 traditional TV broadcasting, maritime services, cellular backhaul and others all look to continue their strong performance or become a new revenue area.
