{"id":87173,"date":"2010-04-08T00:38:29","date_gmt":"2010-04-07T16:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/u-s-appeals-court-rules-against-fcc-internet-regulations\/"},"modified":"2010-04-08T00:38:29","modified_gmt":"2010-04-07T16:38:29","slug":"u-s-appeals-court-rules-against-fcc-internet-regulations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/u-s-appeals-court-rules-against-fcc-internet-regulations\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Appeals Court Rules Against FCC Internet Regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[04-07-10] <strong>The<\/strong> <strong>U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia <\/strong>has ruled against the <strong>U.S. Federal Communications Commission<\/strong>\u2019s [FCC] Internet regulations and broadband expansion plan, released in February.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In its ruling, issued April 6, the court stated that the FCC lacks the authority to require broadband providers to give equal treatment to all Internet traffic flowing over their networks. <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The court case is based on a 2008 legal challenge filed by <strong>Comcast<\/strong> against the FCC, after the commission banned the company from blocking its broadband subscribers from using file-sharing torrent sites.
